light material daggling from her ears, reflecting and refracting the
array of colorful lights in the hall. Her fine long eyelashes tenderly
protecting the almost almond-shaped eyes. Looking into her beautiful
brown eyes would mesmerize even those who claim to be immune to
hypnotism. Wearing a body-fitting patterned blouse that did justice to
her measurements, one could only admire her beauty. The tight-fitting

Esmeralda Barisa was born in former Yugoslavia to an
Italian father and Yugoslavian mother 21 years ago. The parents
separated at the time she was still a baby. This fact was kept secret
from Esmeralda until she became an adult. She later met her father
coincidentally at a wedding party after 20 years of separation. For
her, it was a mixed feeling of joy, happiness and perplexity. At the
tender age of 8 years, she
migrated to Germany with her mother, stepfather, brother and sister.
The new life in Germany was coupled with new challenges. She had to
learn the new language fast in order to attend school and understand
the people. She had to cope with the new environment, culture and
mentality. She took the challenges upon herself and was determined to
overcome the difficulties. She started school and was hardworking.
Then came the tragic; the stepfather died. The mother had to take on
different jobs in order to make ends meet and cater for the 6

the burden of the responsibility became overwhelming that Esmeralda
had to stop schooling. She took up jobs in restaurants and shops in

contests. She also appeared in music videos and had photo-shooting sessions with Pirelli. Commenting
on beauty, she said, “ I believe that every woman is beautiful in her
own way. Sometimes, I feel being watched by people when I am shopping in
a store. It is the secret eyeing that makes me uncomfortable”.
Esmeralda is not only a superb dancer, she is also skilled in languages.
She speaks German, Yugoslavian, Albanian, Persian as well as some
Turkish. English
and Italian are the languages she wants to learn next. With the language
skills, she also works as a translator.

| In her personality, family comes first. She would do
everything to support her family. Having to take care of her sisters and
brother at an early age has injected a sense of responsibility in her.
Answering a question relating to her ambition to be a model, she said,
“Yes, I would like to be a model. I hope to have the chance to give my
best as a model and be successful. But even if I become a star model, I
will never forget my family and where I come from”. Moreover,
Esmeralda has feelings for others; people who are less privileged or
victims of war. She like to help people whenever and wherever she can.
Despite her mini income, she donates money regularly to organizations
that help people in places where there is need. Helping others,
according to her, is part of her life.

| Esmeralda loves fashion and perfumes. Within her mini
budget, she spends a lot on latest outfits and designer perfumes. She
likes to apply and combine different styles in a creative way. In fact,
working in a cosmetic studio, where she could apply cosmetics to change
people’s looks is a career option for her. She loves to be well
groomed. She jogs and tunes up her shape regularly in fitness studios.
Body culture is her thing. |

| Pertaining to relationship, faithfulness is an important
issue for Esmeralda. She has had a couple of broken relationships. She
wants a man to accept her, the way she accepts the man. She is truthful

| I think it is difficult to find a truthful
man these days. They always find an excuse. Due to my experience, I am
now careful. I try to detect what a man wants from me within the first
few minutes of our discussion. I am not arrogant. But I feel that some
men believe that I could have as men as I want because of my looks. This
is not true”.
Music, especially Hip Hop, soul, funk, African and oriental
music, is Esmeralda’s major hobby. She does not like techno. One of
her travel dreams is to visit Brazil. She would also like to visit
